Valid from: 5 October 2026
Website operator: Octagonware UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Franz-Xaver-Honold-Str. 6, 76149 Karlsruhe, Germany
Scope: website www.octahub.eu as well as the Octahub platform (dashboard and web app) and the mobile app “Octahub”
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device when you visit them. They contain information that allows the website to recognize your device when you return. Other storage technologies, such as the browser’s local storage, work in a similar way. Storing information on your device and accessing it is governed by Section 25 of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG).
2. What cookies do we use?
a) Website www.octahub.eu
Our website does not set cookies and does not store any information on your device. We do not use any analytics, tracking or marketing services on the website; fonts are loaded from our own server. This is why we do not display a cookie banner.
b) Platform (dashboard and web app) and app
On the platform, we only use storage that is strictly necessary for the functions you request:
- Login status: after you log in, a login token is stored in your browser’s local storage so that you stay logged in;
- Language setting: your selected language is stored in local storage or in a cookie;
- Display: whether the sidebar is expanded or collapsed is stored in a cookie.
In the mobile app, information is likewise only stored on your device insofar as it is required for the app to work (e.g. login status, language setting and – if you allow push notifications – the push token).
Legal basis: Section 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG (strictly necessary); further processing is based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (contract) or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a functioning platform).
For audience measurement in the dashboard, we use Umami. Umami does not set cookies. For details, please see our Privacy Policy.
c) Functional, analytics and marketing cookies
We do not use cookies that require consent (e.g. for analytics, tracking or personalized advertising). Should we use such services in the future, we will obtain your consent in advance in accordance with Section 25(1) TDDDG and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and update this policy.
3. Third-party providers
No third-party cookies are set on our website or in the platform. If you are redirected to Stripe or PayPal for a payment, these providers may set cookies on their own pages. Their privacy and cookie notices apply.
4. How can you control cookies?
You can delete or block cookies and local storage at any time using your browser settings. If the necessary storage described above is blocked, you may not be able to log in or use certain functions of the platform.
5. Contact
If you have any questions about the use of cookies or data protection, please contact us at info@octagonware.com.
